Drop
2017 steel
Clark College STEM Building, Vancouver, WA.
Enlisting the force of gravity in the sculptural process, identical objects in a range of shapes and materials are dropped from different heights. The work connects to the 'drop tower' in the building's lobby where students and faculty can conduct gravity experiments. On the exterior, 5 möbius rings were fabricated and then dropped from 20', 30' 40' and 50' above ground which deformed them into complex and dynamic shapes. Arranged from the least deformed at the top to the most deformed lower down.
