Commissioned by Tualatin HIlls Parks & Recreation, Beaverton, OR

Two stones set between two Ash trees are engraved with map showing geologic faults running through the Portland Metro area. As the trees grow they will shift the stones, mimicking the slow steady tectonic forces that cause earthquakes. Here the forces the trees place on the stones will demonstrate the vertical shear faults of the Portland Hills fault lying under foot.
